RICHLANDS, Va. — Thomas Edward (Tom) Johnson, age 65, of Richlands, Va., passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in a Bristol, Tenn. hospital. Born May 24, 1942 in Raven, Va., he was the son of the late Oscar and Thenia White Johnson. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Olfalee Johnson, Garnett Johnson, Larry Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Otis Johnson and Curtis Johnson; and two sisters, Betty Washburn and Mary Nelson.

He is survived by four sisters, Emogene Helbert and husband Don of Cleveland, Ohio, Mavis Johnson of Richlands, Helen Yeary of Richlands and Delphia Bass of Norfolk; four brothers, Dennis Johnson and wife Peggy of Raven, Jim Johnson and wife Brenda of Bluefield, W.Va., Jerry Johnson of Richlands and Doug Johnson and wife Coleen of Richlands; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Tim Samples officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Cline Cemetery at Red Root Ridge, Va. Pallbearers will be Corbet Johnson, Jr., Richard Johnson, Brandon Whitt, Joe Whitt, Matthew Johnson and Eugene Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va.
