GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Four pitchers combined to allow just two hits and Keyong Kang went 3-for-4 and scored a run as the Princeton Devil Rays defeated the Greeneville Astros 4-0 Monday night.

Tyree Hayes, Julius Dettrich, Justin Garcia, and Michael Southern all contributed to Princeton’s two-hitter. Both hits came off of Hayes (2-2), who went six innings and struck out two while walking one.

Dettrich, Garcia, and Southern threw the last three innings without giving up a hit. Combined, they struck out five batters, with Garcia fanning two in 1 2-3 innings and Southern seating all three batters he faced in the ninth.

Omar Luna was the other P-Ray to have a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4. James Scholzen added a 1-for-4 evening, but more importantly drove in two runs on a double in the fifth inning that gave Princeton all they needed.

Greeneville starter Leandro Cespedes (0-3) gave up one run on three hits in four innings of work, but could not get any run support. His replacement, Kyle Greenwalt, came in and promptly gave up three runs on three hits in the fifth inning.

Princeton (15-12) will return home tonight for the first of a two-game series with the Danville Braves. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hunnicutt Field.
