ATHENS — The shooting touch was with the Concord University Lady Lions Saturday afternoon at the Carter Center. Concord shot 55 percent from the floor and 10-for-10 at the foul stripe for an 85-48 win over non-conference independent Southern Virginia University.

Jessica Ferguson led the Lady Lions’ offensive attack with 8-for-11 shooting from the field, including a 5-for-7 effort from 3-point range. She added four assists.

Samm Nester was 7-for-8 in field-goal tries for Concord and had three steals and three assists; Shari Walker added 13 points and four assists. Becca Flanagan was CU’s leading rebounder with six.

Leading scorer for the SVU Knights, an associate member of the NAIA, was Lynette Adams with 19.

Concord will put its perfect home record on the line next on Jan. 2 against West Chester.
