HAYSI, Va. — Six different Haysi batters drove in at least one run as the Tigers defeated Council, 12-2, in six innings in Black Diamond District baseball action Tuesday evening at Flannagan Dam.

Nick Stanley had three hits, while Jordan Sullivan and Dakota Stanley each had two hits and drove in three runs for Haysi (12-4, 6-2). Sullivan and Stanley each had two-run singles in the fourth inning, when the Tigers scored six runs to build an 8-0 lead.

Stanley added an RBI triple in the sixth. Sullivan's RBI single drove in the game-clinching run in the sixth, when Haysi scored four times to end the game under the 10-run rule.

Matt Boyd had two hits for Council (0-13, 0-7). Mullins and Justin Blair had two hits, while Joe Yates and Joe Barton both reached base four times for Haysi.

Devin Edwards scattered six hits and allowed just one earned run in five innings to earn the win. Haysi scored eight of its 12 runs with two outs.

Council closes out the regular season at home this afternoon against Twin Valley. Haysi finishes its regular season on the road Thursday at St. Paul.
