I write this letter in agreement with your editorial about credit card companies. In 2003, The credit card industry took in one trillion dollars in profits with virtually no losses (their losses were less than 1/19 of 1 percent).

One trillion dollars is approximately 10 percent of the total economic output of the whole country.

In 2004, Congress rewrote the bankruptcy laws making it much harder to file bankruptcy in order to protect these huge, unconscionable profits.

I constantly see older people in my practice who are being terribly abused by unscrupulous members of this industry. America needs to wake up and realize that all the members of Congress who voted to protect this group should be removed from office.
