TAZEWELL, Va. — Residents and guests visited Tazewell to enjoy the Music On Main and Cruise-in, on Saturday.
Vehicles new and old filled Main Street to capacity. Cars, trucks, and tractors, partnered with the warm weather, set the perfect scene for the monthly event.
Enjoying the people and sights, Shirley Davis, of Tazewell, said of her favorite thing of Tazewell, “They’re trying to grow and spread out. They’re doing different things and encouraging new businesses and new people to come to the town.”
Davis, who frequents the cruise-in and other area events, said the people and the strong community keep her coming back to the events.
Claudine Blankenship, the organizer of the event, said, “The Cruise-in is to bring car enthusiasts and oldie music lovers together.” According to Blankenship, the event brings people in and out of the area.
The event, which occurs once every month during the summer, offers families a great event to attend amidst the summer heat. The next scheduled date for the event is set for June 22.
Regarding the Town of Tazewell, Blankenship explained the various efforts and work that officials are doing to make Tazewell a great location for new opportunities. “The development of new businesses is attracting new families to the area,” Blankenship said.
On Main Street alone, Tazewell has many different opportunities for a day on the town. With a variety of eateries, businesses, and more, Tazewell allows people to have a friendly and safe environment.
