McDowell County Circuit Court Judge Rudolph J. “Rick” Murensky II recently administered the oath of office to Stephen “Grat” Slade, the new McDowell County Juvenile Drug Court Probation Officer for the county’s Juvenile Drug Court Program.
“We’ve had some success with the Juvenile Drug Court in Mercer County,” according to Judge Lisa Clark, McDowell County Juvenile Drug Court judge. “Along with hiring Grat Slade, we are actively setting up out treatment team,” she said. “It’s made up of all facets of agencies that can help kids.”
According to a press release from Clark’s chambers, “the West Virginia Juvenile Drug Court program seeks to divert non-violent, juvenile offenders exhibiting alcohol or substance abuse behavior from the traditional juvenile court process to an intensive, individualized treatment process.
