LASHMEET  — A home invasion in Lashmeet resulted in the homeowner being shot and transported to the hospital.

In the early morning hours, an invader entered through a home, via window, according to M.S. Horn of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department.

According to Horn, the home owner's girlfriend was awake on the couch when the invader entered the home.

Upon seeing the invader, she alerted the homeowner to "Grab a gun."

Shots were fired and the homeowner was reportedly shot in the stomach and transported to the hospital. The wound was reported as non-life threatening.

There is no suspect at this time.
