Tate Publishing LLC has announced the release of “Flowers on the Milkstool — The Diary of Mary Lawson” by local author Tabi Rae.

The book is a diary of the adventures that Mary Lawson experiences in 1871 Kansas, featuring a secret admirer, a tornado and the loss of a loved one.

“We are pleased to present ‘Flowers on the Milkstool,’ and want to introduce it to as many market venues as possible right away, but especially to the author’s local community first,” said Terry Cordingley, marketing representative for Tate Publishing. “We believe the book will appeal to many readers.”

Rae had been writing historical fiction since she was 12 years old. She recently earned a bachelor’s degree in history, with a literature minor, from Bluefield College. Active in her church, she seeks opportunities to help others, and enjoys writing in her free time.
