MAXWELL, Va. — Mary Ann Blankenship Keene, age 49, of Maxwell, Va., passed away Friday August 7, 2009 in a Bristol, Tenn., hospital following an extended illness.
Born at Richlands, Va., she was the daughter of Herley Blankenship and Betty McGlothlin Blankenship of Cedar Bluff, Va.
Mary Ann was a Medical Lab Technician with Clinch Valley Medical Center for 25 years. She was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church and a Past President of the Richlands Football Parents Club. She loved riding motorcycles with her husband and was a friend to everyone.
She is survived in addition to her parents by her husband Randy Keene; two sons Josh Keene of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Jeremy Keene of the home; two sisters Sherri Cheri Blankenship of Honaker, Va., and Nita Hess and husband Bill of Richlands, Va.; one brother Thomas Blankenship and wife Michelle of Richlands, Va.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bobby and Judy Keene of Cliffield, Va.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pam and Joe Terembes of Charlottesville, Va.; three nephews Austin Hess, Erik Hess and Christopher Terembes; one niece Grace Blankenship; special uncles and aunts T.J. and Judy McGlothlin, Kenneth and Tina McGlothlin and Dottye Bennington, cousins, Terri Basham, Robin McGlothlin, Missy Leachman, Deanna Blackburn, Angela Ohligschlager, Michael McGlothlin and Katie McGlothlin; special Friends Linkous and Belinda Horn, Randy and Arlene Matney and a host of other special friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Blankenship Keene will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 11, 2009 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with the Rev. Jackie Strickler and the Rev. Rodney Lawson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Erik Hess, Austin Hess, Logan Matney, Brandon Cole, Hal Keene, Dr. Joe Dales, Luke Creppel and Larry Keene.
The Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
