TAZEWELL, Va. — Jean Williams Taylor, 68, of Tazewell, Va., passed away March 11, 2008 in a Roanoke, Va. hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 12, 1939 in Mercer County, W.Va. and was the daughter of Mrs. Theresa Osborne Williams of Princeton, W.Va. and the late Jack Williams. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and had attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Carl Taylor.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, are: Daughters, Donna Cole and husband, Darrell of Tazewell, Va., Dana Amati and husband, Joe of Danville, Va.; son, Douglas Taylor and wife, Pam of Paintlick, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Patty Arnold of Christiansburg, Va., Mrs. Sus Spradlin of Princeton, W.Va.; brothers, Jerry Williams of Princeton, W.Va., Bobby Williams of Richmond, Va.; special cousin, Evelyn Davidson of Baptist Valley, Va.; grandchildren, Sara, Heather, Bennett, and Izaak; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Jean Taylor will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. with Linda Parsons and the Rev. Claudie Throgmartin officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Pierce Davidson, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Schuler, Joe Amati, Tom Taylor, Jerry Bise, Rick Kitts, and Don Waddell.

The family will receive friends at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell, Va. from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday (today).
