LASHMEET — James Foster Pendergrass, 46, of Garwood Road, Lashmeet, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at his home. Born August 7, 1961 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Earl Foster Pendergrass and Virginia Hassan Pendergrass Cox.

He was a member of The Bridge Church in Princeton and was a disabled coal miner. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dad, we love you and you will be greatly missed. We know you and Mom are together forever. Love, your children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dicie Darlene Sargent Pendergrass in 2005.

Survivors includes six daughters, Tami Todd and husband Travis of Ashland, Ky., Alexis Pendergrass and fiancé, John Sommers of Princeton, Mary Turpin and husband, Roy of Holly Ridge, N.C., Jeanette Brooks and husband, Jason of Princeton, Juliette Pendergrass of Princeton and Chelsey Pendergrass of Princeton; three brothers, Randall Cox and Sadie of Ravencliff, Lonnie Cox of Princeton, Eric Cox and Tammy of Lashmeet; one sister, Jeannie Cordle and husband, Ronald of Matoaka; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Eddie Day and Pastor Joe Haynes, officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and men of the church will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Bridge Church in memory of James Pendergrass, c/o Eddie Day, P.O. Box 397, Lashmeet, WV 24733.
