BLUEFIELD — Ivory J. Hawley Jr., age 86, of 1211 Groveland Drive, Bluefield, W.Va., died on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on December 14, 1921, in Bluefield, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jackson and Rhodie Spangler Hawley. He had lived in Bluefield his entire life and was a member of the Midway Church of Christ. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He had retired as a US Postal Carrier.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Eula May Hawley and a granddaughter, Patricia Sutphin preceded him in death.

Survivors: son: Victor L. Hawley and wife Lisa of Bluefield, W.Va.; daughters: Teresa Webb and husband Harold of Bluefield, W.Va., Gerry Sutphin and husband Ray of Bluefield, W.Va.; brother: Clifford Hawley and wife Dorothy of Abingdon, Va.; sister: Pauline Vinciguerra of Bluefield, W.Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Mike Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
