Troopers with the West Virginia State Police Princeton Detachment and deputies with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office came to the aid of the eagle, which was injured beside U.S. Route 460, between Ambrose Lane and Locust Princeton.  Officials believe the eagle may have been eating a dead animal when it was injured. DNR Officer Little transported the injured eagle to All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in Princeton. The clinic is a first-level rescue for the Three Rivers Avian Center, which rescues and rehabilitates injured birds of prey.
