P Rays 5, Orioles 4

The Princeton P-Rays picked up their third win in a row last Friday with a 5-4 victory over the Bluefield Orioles at Hunnicutt Field.

The win gave the P Rays a one-up lead in the Mercer Cup series for the 2007 season.

The big blow was a two-run home shot by Eligio Sonoqui.

The most exciting part of the contest was the seven twin-innings to take the Orioles out of contention.

P Rays 8, Orioles 4

The Princeton Rays continued their fancy fielding in the second game of the double header at Bowen Field on Saturday night as they registered three more double plays.

The P Rays scored the first run before the Orioles came back to knot the score in the bottom of the first inning.

The P Rays took the lead in the top of the second inning and two more in the top of the sixth for a 4-2 lead.

After the O’s scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, the P Rays added four more runs in the seventh for an 8-2 lead

The O’s cut the lead with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Justin Reynolds had three RBIs and batted 2 for 4 for Princeton.

Eligio Sonoqui was 2 for 5 and scored twice.

Princeton reliever Kyle Ayers got the win, going three innings and allowing three runs.
