Giles Jones

Giles E. “Josh” Jones, 83, of 114 Foster Street in Princeton, died Thursday, May 06, 2010 at his residence. Born February 1, 1927 in Willowton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arthur R. and Cora Thomas Jones. He retired from M & R Distributing Co. in 1995 after 35 years of service. He was also a retired concrete finisher. Giles was a faithful member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton where he was active in the United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Men's Interdenominational Bible Class. Giles loved his family and his home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents, his wife, Betty Ann Shannon Jones; one grandson, Steven Basham; one sister, Fannie Comer; and four brothers, Jack, Alfred, Toots and Rab Jones preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Jones Duncan and husband Ricky of Hinton and Brenda Jones Basham and husband Mark of Middleburg, Fla.; two sons, Kenny E. Jones and wife Tina of Falls Mills, Va. and Gary A. Jones and wife Jeanneine of Bluefield; seven grandchildren, Jason Duncan and wife Kyra, Jessica Cox and husband Kyle, Brandon Jones and wife Erin, Zachary Jones, Darin Jones, and Ashlee East; five great-grandchildren, Sydney Duncan, Maximilian Duncan, Lacey Ann Cox, Jackson Tyler Dudleson and Sadie Marie Jones; one sister, Dona Jones of Princeton; and special friends, Clyde and Ilene Vaught of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2010 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Reverend Tom Hill, the Reverend Ricky Duncan and the Reverend Jason Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton. Kee Street United Methodist Men will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee St., Princeton, WV  24740.
