Body found near Beckley, autopsy planned

Associated Press

CHARLESTON —  Police say an autopsy is planned to determine whether a body found in a shallow grave in Raleigh County is that of a missing Charleston man.

Kanawha County sheriff’s Cpl. Brian Humphreys tells media outlets that the body was discovered near an abandoned house near Beckley on Wednesday.

He says there’s a “strong possibility” the body is that of 28-year-old Kareem Hunter, who was last seen in Marmet in September. Humphreys wouldn’t elaborate, but Raleigh County Sheriff Steve Tanner says the body appears to have the same physical description as Hunter.

The body will be sent to the state medical examiner.

Kelsey Marie Legg is being held without bond on a murder charge, accused of luring Hunter to her apartment with plans to have him kidnapped.
