Storm closes courts in 17 W.Va. counties

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Courts and judicial offices are closed in 17 West Virginia counties due to superstorm Sandy.

The closures include circuit and magistrate courts, circuit and magistrate clerks' offices, family courts and probation offices.

Closures listed on the state Supreme Court website are in Barbour, Braxton, Clay, Greenbrier, Jefferson, Lewis, McDowell, Mercer, Morgan, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Preston, Raleigh, Randolph, Taylor, Upshur and Webster counties.
