CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Calhoun County man whose three children and mother were killed in a fire has been arrested on drug charges.
Media outlets report that 34-year-old Benjamin Jackson of Chloe was arrested Saturday after he was released from Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was treated for burns suffered in the March 14 fire.
Jackson initially was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center. Police say workers at CAMC found methamphetamine, coffee filters and a smoking device in his belongings. He's charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
Jackson tells WCHS-TV (http://bit.ly/16hc9Tv ) that the fire had nothing to do with drugs.
Funerals were held Saturday for the victims, 7-year-old Ryan Jackson, 6-year-old Patricia Jackson, 5-year-old Aryanne Jackson and 57-year-old Darlene Gooslin.
