CHARLESTON — Unemployment rates rose in 54 of West Virginia’s 55 counties in June.
West Virginia said Friday that Pocahontas County was the only county to see a drop in the jobless rate. Monongalia and Jefferson counties have the lowest rates in the state at 4.2 percent.
Counties with the highest rates were Webster, 11.2 percent; and Mason and Mingo, both at 10.5 percent. West Virginia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.1 percent in June, down slightly from May’s rate.
