Study: W.Va. high school graduation rate improves

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A new study says more West Virginia high school students are graduating in four years.

The U.S. Department of Education study released Tuesday says 78 percent of the students who graduated in the spring of 2010 earned their diplomas on time. That's up from 77 percent in the previous school year and the same as the national rate.

West Virginia's dropout rate remained at about 4 percent. The national rate was 3.4 percent.
