The new West Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame will be located at North Central West Virginia Airport.
West Virginia Airport Managers Association president Tom Cochran says the group’s board unanimously voted this week to locate the hall of fame at the Bridgeport airport.
Cochran tells The Exponent Telegram that North Central West Virginia Airport was selected because of its central location in the state, and strong community partnerships and public support.
The other contenders were Yeager Airport in Charleston and Wheeling Ohio County Airport.
The hall of fame will promote the aviation industry and its history. The first class of West Virginians who have contributed to the industry’s success will be inducted during the West Virginia Aviation Conference in August.
