LUMBERPORT — A pilot killed in a single-engine plane crash in Harrison County has been identified.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department tells media outlets that 68-year-old Barry W. Parks of Fairmont was the only person aboard the plane.

The Beechcraft BE-33 crashed in a wooded area near Lumberport on Saturday. The plane was registered to Parks.

National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Peter Knudson tells media outlets that the plane left the Fairmont Municipal Airport-Frankman Field in Marion County shortly before it crashed.

The cause of the crash hasn’t been determined. The NTSB is investigating.
