The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association is seeking homes for 19 cats and three dogs that were removed from a Charleston residence.
Association director Chelsea Staley tells the Charleston Daily Mail that a man called Metro 911 Tuesday afternoon and told dispatchers he wanted his wife’s animals out of the house.
Staley and another shelter worker went to the house with two Kanawha County humane officers. She says feces and paper plates containing food were throughout the home, and there wasn’t any furniture.
But Staley says the animals appeared to be well fed.
The animals will be available for adoption Wednesday.
