Halstead - Gracon wedding

— — Ms. Courtney Leone Halstead, of Princeton, W.Va., and Dr. Raymond Louis Gracon, of Narrows, Va., were united in marriage on March 31, 2012, at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church, in Princeton, W.Va.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Brian Gracon from Ellijay, Ga., and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Trandel of Evergreen Park, Ill. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2005, and a doctor of veterinary medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2009. He is currently employed by the Green Valley Animal Hospital in Bluefield, W.Va.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Krajenke from Marion, N.C., and granddaughter of Ernest Leo Murphy of Summersville, W.Va. She is a 2001 graduate from Nicholas County High School, and earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Concord University in 2008. She also earned a master’s degree in education from Concord University in 2010, with a specialty in reading. She is currently employed as a third grade teacher by Mercer County Schools.

The bride wore an ivory colored, strapless, beaded gown. She carried a bouquet of fresh cut lilies and roses.

Ali Sears, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Nina Billups, cousin of the bride; Jenna McClung, friend of the bride; Jennifer Moore and Briana Marsh, sisters of the groom. They wore tea length chocolate cocktail dresses with champagne colored sash, and carried bouquets of pink roses. Anna Moore and KaraLynn Marsh, nieces of the groom, walked as flower girls in the ceremony.

Nicholas Pachis, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Mike Hickey, Laurel Yu, Richard Pence, friends of the groom and Scotty Murphy, uncle of the bride. Michael Moore Jr., nephew of the groom, walked as the ring bearer. Michael Moore and Brendan Marsh, brothers-in-law of the groom, served as ushers.

Music included vocalists Karen Moulder, Angie Neal and Jerry Hawks and harpist Laurel Thompson. The couple was chauffeured from the ceremony by Bill Bibb, in a 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn. Emilie Whittaker assisted with the wedding and the reception, which followed the ceremony in Concord University’s ballroom.

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Princeton Railroad Museum in downtown Princeton.

The couple honeymooned at Dreams Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and resides in Narrows, Va.
