’Killing Kennedy’ wraps filming in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Crews for the National Geographic movie about the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy have wrapped up filming in Richmond.

Filming for “Killing Kennedy” began last month and wrapped up just before the July 4th holiday.

The film is expected to air on the National Geographic Channel around the 50th anniversary of the shooting in November and is based on the book by Bill O’Reilly.

Rob Lowe will portray JFK in the film. In addition to Lowe, the movie will feature Ginnifer Goodwin as the first lady and Michelle Trachtenberg as Marina Oswald.

National Geographic already had a hit earlier this year with an adaptation of another of the Fox News Channel anchor’s books, “Killing Lincoln.” That movie also was filmed in Richmond in 201.
