Va. State Police investigate teen’s fatal shooting

JARRATT, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Sussex County.

State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller identified the victim as Tyler Givens of Jarratt.

Geller said Monday that Jarratt was shot Sunday afternoon at a residence in Jarratt. He died at the scene.

Police recovered a handgun at the scene.

Givens’ body was sent to the medical examiner’s office in Richmond for an autopsy.

No charges have been filed.
