Va. man charged after suspicious device found

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — A Christiansburg man is facing charges of threatening to bomb an apartment because he was being evicted.

Christiansburg police tell media outlets that investigators searched 20-year-old Caleb Elijah Haxton’s apartment after the alleged threat was reported to police Wednesday night. They found a suspicious device which was disabled Thursday morning.

Police say the device will be sent to a state lab for analysis. Further details weren’t provided.

Haxton was charged with making threats to bomb. He was being held Thursday morning at the Montgomery County Jail. Jail records didn’t indicate whether he has an attorney.
