6 injured in Roanoke bakery fire

ROANOKE, Va. — An early morning fire at a bakery in Roanoke has caused about $50,000 in damage to equipment.

Roanoke Fire-EMS tells media outlets that six people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The fire at Maple Leaf Bakery was reported around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday. It broke out in the insulation of an industrial oven used to bake break.

Roanoke Fire-EMS says the bakery also lost about $25,000 in production time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
