Va. woman pleads guilty to attacking son with ax

HANOVER, Va. — A Mechanicsville woman has pleaded guilty to attacking her son with an ax.

WWBT-TV reports that Kimberly Shepperson pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of attempted capital murder charges, arson and malicious wounding.

Court records show that sentencing is set for Jan. 23, 2014, in Hanover County Circuit Court.

Shepperson was accused of attacking her 11-year-old son with an ax in February, giving him a prescription sleep aid and setting fire to their home.
