Va. teen wounded by stray bullet named prom queen

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Newport News teenager who was wounded by a stray bullet has been named prom queen at her high school.

Demetria Logan is still recovering after being shot in the face on April 15. The bullet broke her jaw.

WAVY-TV reports that the 18-year-old won the title of prom queen at Warwick High School this past weekend.

Logan had told WAVY earlier that she was sitting in her room talking to her mother when the bullet came through the wall and hit her.

No arrests have been made.
