Teen charged in attack, child’s death in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond police say they have charged a teenage boy in the assault of a young girl and the death of her brother.

Police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said Saturday the 16-year-old male was charged with murder and strangulation. His identity was withheld due to his age.

Officials on Friday identified the deceased boy as 8-year-old Martin Cobb.

Relatives say the attack occurred Thursday in the neighborhood where the children lived.
