NARROWS, Va. —
Celanese Corp.’s cellulose acetate plant Narrows is switching from coal-fired boilers to boilers fired by natural gas.
The company has hired Overland Contracting Inc. to replace the boilers.
OCI announced the project Monday in a news release. The company says the project will enable the plant to meet new federal emissions standards.
Job information sites for the project will be set up by OCI at job services offices in Narrows and Radford, and at the Giles County Commissioner’s Office in Pearisburg.
The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2015.
OCI is a subsidiary of Black & Veatch.
