Plane overshoots runway, crashes in Louisa County

— — Virginia State Police say no one was injured when a plane overshot the runway and crashed at an airport in Louisa County.

Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar says the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing at the Lake Anna Airport in Bumpass when the crash occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Molnar says the plane had mechanical issues.

There was one passenger aboard the plane.

State police are investigating the crash.

No other details were immediately available.
