VDOT tests rumble strips in Tazewell, Buchanan, Russell counties

TAZEWELL, Va. —  Temporary rumble strips are being tested in highway work zones in four Southwest Virginia counties.

Lebanon assistant residency administrator John Watson tells the Bristol Herald Courier that the tests are an effort to improve safety for workers in work zones.

The strips alert motorists to slow down and make them aware of work zones.

The strips are being tested in work zones in Washington, Buchanan, Russell and Tazewell counties.
