Va. man pleads guilty to moonshine charges

CHATHAM, Va. — A Pittsylvania County man faces more than 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to moonshine charges.

Media outlets report that 60-year-old Ronald Wayne Bray pleaded guilty Wednesday in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court to possessing or transporting untaxed alcohol and illegal sale of an alcoholic beverage.

Bray also pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and maintaining a common nuisance.

The charges stem from an undercover investigation by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Bray faces up to 29 years in prison. Sentencing is set for May 27.
