Local performers being booked for Va. State Fair

DOSWELL, Va. — Organizers for the 2014 State Fair of Virginia are seeking Virginia musicians, dancers and others to perform at the fall event.

Officials say they’re accepting applications from Virginia-based performers for the event’s local music venue. One-hour slots are available on each day of the fair’s 10-day run.

The deadline for interested individuals and groups to send samples of their work is Sept. 1.

The fair will take place Sept. 26 through Oct. 5 at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.

Officials say last year’s fair attracted 229,000 guests.
