Va students hospitalized after school bus accident

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech police say several students and adults were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after an accident involving a school bus from Floyd County.

Maj. Kevin Foust said the bus was on a field trip on the Virginia Tech campus Tuesday afternoon when the rear tire hit a stone wall about two feet high. The hard jolt caught riders by surprise.

Media outlets report that six students and three adults were taken to LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.

According to a spokesperson, their injuries are mostly bumps and bruises. They were discharged by 3:45 p.m.

A second Floyd County school bus was dispatched and picked up the rest of the students.
