6 firefighters injured in wreck in Va.

BEDFORD, Va. — Six firefighters are in the hospital after a pumper truck overturned on the way to a fire in Bedford County.

The Bedford Fire Department tells media outlets that the firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The firefighters are members of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday as they were responding to a structure fire.

State police tell media outlets that  the pumper truck ran off the road as it came around a corner. The driver overcorrected and the truck crossed the road, hit a wooden fence in front of a restaurant and overturned in the parking lot.
