Va. social worker admits to decades-old minor sex

CHATHAM, Va. — A former social worker in Pittsylvania County faces sentencing next month after pleaded guilty to four counts stemming from a sexual relationship she had with a minor in her custody nearly 25 years ago.

The Danville Register & Bee ( ) reports that 55-year-old Mary M. Laughinghouse pleaded guilty this month to charges of taking indecent liberties with a minor. She entered the plea in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court.
