Police: Va. woman sent photo of slain mom to dad

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Police say in court documents that a Chesapeake woman charged with killing her mother sent a photo of the victim’s body to her father.

Nineteen-year-old Rachel Lee Hutson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Susan Lee Hutson. Police found the mother dead in the family’s home on Nov. 29, 2013.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that a search warrant affidavit filed by police in Chesapeake Circuit Court says Hutson called her father and said she had shot her mother. The affidavit says she sent a photo of her mother’s body to her father’s cellphone.

Hutson’s attorney, Erik Porcaro, declined to comment on the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 28 in Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
