Sports calendar for Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013

— YOGA

PRINCETON — Free yoga classes will take place at the Princeton Health & Fitness Center on Saturday, March 2, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., in celebration of the center offering yoga classes for 10 years. Modifications will be demonstrated so that participants in the “Celebration of Yoga” will feel challenged yet successful. BASEBALL TRIP

PRINCETON — The Princeton Rays are accepting reservations for their 9th annual Major League Baseball Bus Trip, this year to Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark on Saturday, May 11. The Reds play the Milwaukee Brewers in a 4:10 p.m. afternoon game. The air-conditioned bus will leave Hunnicutt Field at 8 a.m. A stop in Beckley is planned for those in that area who are going on the trip. A short meal stop will take place en route to Cincinnati. The bus will return to Princeton immediately following the game. Cost is $100 per person and includes all transportation fees and game ticket. The first 30,000 people through the gates will receive a bobblehead doll of Cincinnati star pitcher Aroldis Chapman.

The Princeton Rays accept major credit cards to ease ordering by telephone or email.  Since reserved stadium seating is involved, all seats must be reserved and paid in full by April 3 or until the bus is full, whichever happens first. BASEBALL RECEPTION

PRINCETON — A public reception for 2013 Princeton Rays manager Danny Shaeffer will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the First Christian Church fellowship hall at 805 Straley Avenue in Princeton from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. The meet-and-greet session will include door prizes. Sheaffer is in his 33th season of professional baseball, and first with Tampa Bay. He has previously managed at the AAA level with the Memphis Redbirds and Round Rock Express. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS

PILGRIM’S KNOB, Va. — The 17th Annual Bobcat Classic will be held Feb. 23-24 at Twin Valley Elementary-Middle School. BASTIAN, Va. — The 27th Annual Klingensmith Cup Golf Tournament will be played on Monday, May 20 at the Wolf Creek Golf Course. The event is sponsored by Bluefield State College’s School of Engineering Technology and Computer Science. The four-person captain’s choice tourney will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and the presentation of prizes and trophies will occur after play is completed. WRESTLING

BLUEFIELD — The Bluefield Wrestling Club will have practice and sign-ups on Feb. 19 and Feb. 21 at the Graham High School gymnasium from 6:30-8 p.m. The season runs from mid-February to mid-April. There is a $35 club and AAU fee per wrestler. No special equipment is needed. Open to all children, pre-kindergarten-12th grade. WELCH — The Mc Dowell County Sports Hall of Fame will induct the undefeated Welch High School team of 1963 on May 5 at their annual banquet. PRINCETON — An adult tennis league is now being held at the Princeton Senior High School courts. Singles are held on Tuesday, with doubles on Thursday.
