INDOOR SOCCER

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors, in conjunction with Bluefield College and United States Youth Futsal, is starting an indoor soccer league for boys, girls, men and women of all ages. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

BLAND, Va. — The 22nd J. Stephen Lindamood Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held on April 5-6 at Bland High School. The slogan for the tournament has been established “Play for the love of the game.” Since 1991, 21 graduates of Bland High School have received scholarships in Lindamood’s name, including last year’s record high of $5,000 to Chase Hankins. YOUTH BASKETBALL

BLUEFIELD — The West Virginia ICE March Madness Basketball Tournament will be held on March 28-30 at the Herb Sims Youth Center and other local gymnasiums. Boys and girls divisions, grades 3-12. BASEBALL

PRINCETON — The Princeton Rays will host a Major League Baseball bus trip on April 12 at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark with the Reds hosting Tampa Bay at 1:10 p.m. The cost is $105 per person, which includes transportation fees and game ticket. The first 20,000 people through the gates at that game will receive a Cincinnati Reds fleece blanket. The bus will leave at 6 a.m., and return after the game. All payments must be made by Feb. 28. BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bluefield College Athletics is proud to announce an effort to rejuvenate the Ram Club, with head tennis coach Mark Sarver serving as the Ram Club director. SPORTS BANQUET

BLUEFIELD, Va. — “A Celebration of Success,” spotlighting Bluefield State athletics and Greenbrier Resort Owner/President Jim Justice will be held on April 22 at Fincastle on the Mountain. The event starts at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $50 and table sponsorships are $400. Table sponsorships include seats for eight individuals and the opportunity to attend a “Meet and Greet” Session with Jim Justice prior to the dinner. Student athletic table sponsorships are also available at $400 and underwrite the cost for eight BSC student-athletes to be able to attend the event. Proceeds from the event will go to the BSC Athletic Department. TAZEWELL, Va. — Tazewell Little League will be having sign-ups on Saturdays through March 15 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the town fields. 5K RACE

PRINCETON — The 2nd Annual Sam White 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 8 a.m. at Burke Memorial Baptist Church. Benefiting the Sam White Family Foundation and the Tiger Athletic Foundation, the cost is $25 for pre-registration or $35 on the day of the race. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female winners, along with the top three runners in five different age groups. The first $1,000 raised will fund a scholarship for a PSHS student, and the remainder will go toward a college fund for White’s children. White is a former coach at Princeton and PikeView who died in November of 2012.  To register, visit www.samwhite5k.com. IAEGER — Beginner Karate classes are being taught at Gilbert Shotokan Karate Academy. Classes are for boys and girls, ages 8 and up, and will be held twice each week on Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Family rates are available in addition to individual rates. PRINCETON — The Princeton Park and Recreation Center will host baton-twirling, pom-pom dance, and flag-twirling / color guard classes on Tuesday nights. Pom-pom dance class is open to ages 5 and up. PRINCETON — The Princeton Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting new members for the Silverettes Majorette class and dance class. BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Sarver Tennis Club at Sedgewood currently accepts enrollment for the 2013-2014 school term Junior Tennis Program. PRINCETON — An adult tennis league is now being held at the Princeton Senior High School courts. Singles are held on Tuesday, with doubles on Thursday.
