BASEBALL CLINICS

ATHENS — Andrew Wright and the Concord University baseball program will host offensive, defensive and pitching clinics on Sunday, Jan. 12, at Anderson Field. The pitching and defensive clinics will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with the offensive clinic slated for 1-4 p.m. The cost is $75 for each clinic, although those wishing to attend both sessions can get a discounted rate of $100. PRINCETON — The Princeton Rays will host a Major League Baseball bust trip on April 12 at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark with the Reds hosting Tampa Bay at 1:10 p.m. The cost is $105 per person, which includes transportation fees and game ticket. The first 20,000 people through the gates at that game will receive a Cincinnati Reds fleece blanket. The bus will leave at 6 a.m., and return after the game. All payments must be made by Feb. 28. TABLE TENNIS

CHARLESTON — The Harry Sands Teams Table Tennis Tournament will be held at the Charleston Recreation Center on Saturday, Jan. 25. Teams must have at least three players. Cost is $30 per team. Every match will consist of two singles matches, then a double match followed by two more singles matches, if needed, in that order.  Once the team match is decided, play will stop for that match. Food and drinks will be provided by the Charleston Table Tennis Club, host of this annual event. 5K RACE

BECKLEY — St. Luke Lutheran Church will conduct the Third Sweetheart 5K Run and Fun Run on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at the church. funds will go to Lutheran mission support. Entry fee includes long-sleeved race T-shirt and brunch. Registration is $15 before Feb. 5 and $20 on the day of the race. Kids fun run for ages 10 and under is free. FISHING

BLUEFIELD — The “Hillbilly Bassmasters” fishing club is currently accepting new members. The organization holds about 10 fishing tournaments each year. For more information, contact Ron Gillespie at (276) 970-1355.

BLUEFIELD — The Forza Wrestling club is now taking applications for boys and girls, K-12, interested in the sport of wrestling. The club practices and participates in matches all year round. For more information, contact David Trigg at 304-960-5405.

KARATE CLASSES

IAEGER — Beginner Karate classes are being taught at Gilbert Shotokan Karate Academy. Classes are for boys and girls, ages 8 and up, and will be held twice each week on Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Family rates are available in addition to individual rates. TWIRLING/DANCE CLASSES

PRINCETON — The Princeton Park and Recreation Center will host baton-twirling, pom-pom dance, and flag-twirling / color guard classes on Tuesday nights. Pom-pom dance class is open to ages 5 and up. MAJORETTE/DANCE CLASSES

PRINCETON — The Princeton Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting new members for the Silverettes Majorette class and dance class. Classes are on Tuesday evenings, with majorettes from 5:30 to 6:30 and dance from 6:30 to 7:30. The first class is free. TENNIS LESSONS

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Sarver Tennis Club at Sedgewood currently accepts enrollment for the 2013-2014 school term Junior Tennis Program. Also, private lesson appointments are available on a limited basis. Seasonal memberships can be purchased (Sept. 1-May 31) as well. ADULT TENNIS LEAGUE

PRINCETON — An adult tennis league is now being held at the Princeton Senior High School courts. Singles are held on Tuesday, with doubles on Thursday. The co-ed league is open to all ages and playing levels. Loaner racquets are available for newcomers. A 10-and-under league will be developed in the spring. For more information, call 888-775-7075.
