GLENWOOD — The Glenwood Minutemen will hold pre-registration for football and cheerleading this evening at the Glenwood 4-H camp mess hall from 6-8 p.m. The fee is $45 for one child, $65 for two, or $100 for three or more. VOLLEYBALL CAMPS

BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Bluefield College volleyball team will host a skills camp by boys and girls on June 11-14 at The Dome Gymnasium. PIPESTEM—The 24th Annual Homer K. Ball Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on June 14 at the Pipestem Resort State Park. The captain’s choice format event will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. First and second place prizes will be awarded to men’s and women’s teams, along with prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. BASTIAN, Va. — The first Mercer County Spay Association Golf Gala will be held June 15 at the Wolf Creek Golf Club. Proceeds from the 18-hole Captain’s Choice event will be used exclusively for the group’s spay and neutering program, representing its most ambitious challenge to date. Cost per four-member team is $240. Businesses, groups or individuals may purchase $100-per-hole sponsorships. A barbeque dinner will be served following play. ATHENS — Concord University will host its third annual golf outing on July 12 at the Fountain Springs Golf Club in Peterstown. All proceeds will benefit Concord athletics. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Play will be conducted under a scramble, best-ball format. The entry fee is $200 per foursome. Included in the cost are 18 holes of golf, two carts and free beverages. Hole sponsorships are being offered for $100. A catered lunch, raffle and awards ceremony will be held at the completion of play. Prizes will be awarded for the top three team finishes, longest drive and closest to the pin. MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

BLUEFIELD — Season tickets for Bluefield Blue Jays baseball are now on sale for the 2013 Appalachian League season. The cost is $65 and includes 35 undated tickets that allow for admission to any of the Blue Jays’ regular season home games. Tickets can also be used for games at Princeton’s Hunnicutt Field when the Blue Jays play the Princeton Rays in the Mercer Cup series. MAJOR LEAGUE BUS TRIP

PRINCETON — There are still seats available for the Princeton Rays-sponsored Major League bus trip to PNC Park in Pittsburgh to see the Pirates play the New York Mets on July 13. The cost is $100 per person and includes all transportation fees, game ticket, and a fireworks show after the game. BASEBALL CAMPS

ATHENS — Concord University will host a trio of baseball camps this summer, including a youth skills camp on June 24-27 and a pair of baseball showcase camps on June 28 and July 26. The youth camp is for children, age 6-13, from 9 a.m.-noon each day for $100, and will focus on professional instruction and individual and group drills. The showcase camps are players, 14 years to junior college level, with advanced instruction and evaluation by the Concord coaching staff. ATHENS — The Concord University women’s basketball program will be hosting the Lady Lion Instructional Basketball Camp July 14-16. The camp is under the direction of Concord head coach Kenny Osborne, the WVIAC Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2012. ATHENS — The Concord University men’s basketball program will host an instructional basketball camp for boys, ages 8-18, on July 17-20 at the Carter Center. The camp will feature thorough instruction on the fundamentals of basketball as well as team play (up to eight players on a team) according to age and individual experience level. Attendees have the option to commute or stay in dorms. The cost is $220 for resident campers, or $180 for commuters. BLUEFIELD, Va. — SPARKS will host a 3-on-3 double-elimination basketball tournament on June 21-22 at the Bluefield College Dome Gymnasium. The entry fee is $20 per person or $60 per team. Age groups includes youth, ages 14-17, and adults, ages 18-up. Registration deadline is June 14. All proceeds support SPARKS, a youth education empowerment program. FOOTBALL CAMP

ATHENS — Concord University football will host three camps this summer for high school players and teams. A player's camp will be conducted June 23-25 while a 7-on-7 Passing Tournament and a Big-Man Skills Clinic will both be held on June 26. The players camp is for boys, grades 6-12, will be run by the CU coaching staff. The cost is $180 for overnight campers or $150 for commuters. The fee is $100 for the passing tournament, while the cost of the Big Man Skills Clinic is $10 per lineman. The passing tournament is for local high schools to compete in 7-on- 7 passing games. SOCCER CAMP

ATHENS — Concord University men’s soccer will host the CU High Performance Soccer Camp for boys and girls in grades, K-8, on July 8-11 at Anderson Field. The camp is designed to expose soccer players to various components of the game, and all players will be thoroughly instructed on the fundamentals of soccer. Participants can choose between full day sessions (9 a.m.-7:30 p.m.) for $175 or half-day (9 a.m.-noon) for $125. Registration takes place on June 8 at 8:30 a.m. in the Carter Center.
