BRADSHAW— Kiersten Roberts’ first basketball game since spraining her ankle on January 2 wasn’t filled with her usual offensive fireworks, but she still did her part to help lead the River View girls to victory.

Madison Blankenship scored 14 points to lead the Lady Raiders in a 47-40 win over visiting James Monroe on Friday night.

Roberts, who’d only had her first light practice on Thursday, finished with five points, six assists and six rebounds.

Demi Lester scored 12 points for River View (7-3), which didn’t get ahead for good until a couple of fourth quarter steals by Emily Auville and Blankenship created some transition to achieve separation.

Auville finished with eight points and Calhoun, who played the entire game, had six rebounds and four steals to go with her eight points.

Gracie Mann scored 14 points to pace the disappointed Mavericks, who led 17-16 at the half. Chylyn Fox hit three 3-pointers on her way to 10 points.
