Hawk drops puppy into new home

LOS BANOS, Calif. — A lucky puppy that survived a ride from an eagle-eyed hawk and a 30-foot drop is now being cared for by a boy.

The 2-month-old pup almost didn’t survive the fall, but now it’s making a steady recovery at the home of Taylor Calloway, who saw it land in his garden, according to television station KSBW.

His grandmother Elaine Bouschard said from her back yard, “Right here is where Taylor started yelling that he saw the puppy. I looked up and the hawk was just flying right here, circling around and at that point, we all just went to the puppy. My thought is that when God drops a puppy from the sky, you keep it.”

The family believes the pup may have been a stray from a junkyard because it was covered with grease when they found it. Now the puppy is named TJ Heavenly after its owner and its remarkable survival.
