Drug dealer fails common sense test

- — LAPEL, Ind. — A text message sent to a policeman has landed an Indiana man in jail.

According to Capt. Michael Barnes, David Ball, 23, thought he was texting a friend asking if he needed any medication.

Instead of advising Ball of the mistake,Officer Ryan Daniels replied, “Yes.”

He then arranged to complete the transaction. Once the drugs and money were exchanged, Ball was arrested.

Barnes said that while it was strange that a police officer received a text message from a drug dealer, even more bizarre was that Ball continued to communicate without knowing who was receiving his texts.

“Can you imagine doing a drug transaction without knowing who you were talking to?” Barnes said.
