- — CORBIN, Ky. — It was anything but an uplifting experience.
A Whitley County woman was charged with attempted murder after she stabbed another woman six times in a dispute over a bra, according to Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Jackson.
Virginia L. Frye, 30, was arrested after the attack on Erica Petrey Canada, who is believed to be in her 20s.
Frye had contacted Canada about the missing undergarment and arranged a meeting.
“I believe that both women knew when they decided to meet that they were going to be in an altercation — Canada was armed with a small lug wrench and Frye was armed with a large kitchen knife,” Jackson said.
Canada was taken to a hospital for treatment, which included a serious chest wound.
Pending completion of the investigation, the matter is expected to be taken before a grand jury.
