From Rams to Detroit Lions

BLUEFIELD —  Kirk Broussard, who spent the 2012 season as the wide receivers coach for the Bluefield College Rams, has joined the Detroit Lions as a coaching intern for the upcoming NFL preseason schedule. A native of New Orleans, Broussard has played and coached at the college level and in the Arena Football League. He also served as a coaching intern for the Minnesota Vikings in 2010.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to gain more experience in the NFL and I’m excited to get to work with all of the coaching staff with the Detroit Lions organization. This is my dream opportunity with the NFL and I can’t wait to get to work.”

He added in an email, “Go Bluefield, I will always have love for that city.”
